Learn While You Grow!

The purpose of the Internships Committee is to support entry level individuals interested in acquiring additional skills and employment in ornamental horticulture businesses (e.g. nurseries), research institutions and public gardens. Click here to see a video of a past recipient.

The Internships Committee announces, accepts and reviews Internship applications. Funding is available once a year. Up to $1,000 per applicant is awarded to two individuals. The Committee is made up of IPPS member volunteers with one of the current Directors of the IPPS-ER Foundation serving as Chair.  Watch Internship Committee Chair Ron Amos describe the Program.

Internships support travel, housing, wages, or educational expenses (such as a conference or specific training) to enhance the overall internship experience. The successful candidate(s) will receive funds in the form of a reimbursement for eligible expenses incurred during the internship experience. The deadline for online applications is March 1, with decisions made in April. The announcement about the start of the application is made in the IPPS-Eastern Region newsletter in November or December and an email message sent to our notification list. Those interested in applying can request to be added to the email notification list at any time. Contact Brian Maynard, Executive Secretary.
