Internships Funding for Workers and Students – Deadline: July 1st, 2024

Internships Funding for Workers and Students – Deadline: July 1st, 2024

The International Plant Propagators’ Society-Eastern Region Foundation (IPPS-ERF) is offering financial support internship experiences related to nursery production, plant propagation, or plant collections for students or nursery and garden employees with 5 years or less experience.

Grants-in-Aid of up to $1,000 support travel, housing, wages, or educational expenses (such as a conference or specific training) to enhance the overall internship experience. Successful candidate(s) will receive the grant in the form of a reimbursement for expenses incurred during the internship experience. Receipts are required. The deadline for submitting a proposal is July 1st.

Proposals should include your resume, the name of a contact person from the company, garden or institution where the candidate will work, the purpose for the funding request, and a detailed budget. Apply online here.

Successful applicants will be notified by August 15th. Successful applicants are encouraged to present their experience at an annual IPPS-Eastern Region Conference and must provide a one-page report on their experience for the IPPS-ER Newsletter and/or Proceedings.

What is IPPS-ER Foundation?

The IPPS Eastern Region Foundation was created in 2004 to support research and education in ornamental horticulture. IPPS Eastern Region provides a forum for sharing plant production knowledge to enhance the professionalism, knowledge and skills of its members. Proposal submissions or questions regarding internship grants should be directed to the Foundation Internship Committee Chair, Ron Amos at IPPSERintern@gmail.com.

The Foundation’s programs for scholarships, research grants and internships are announced in the IPPS-ER monthly newsletter and by email to members, academics and students. If you want to be added to the newsletter list, register here. Membership is free to students.
