Building the Future: How IPPS Members Support the Next Generation

This past September, seventeen students from nine colleges, including Ohio State University and two from Puerto Rico, had the opportunity to attend the IPPS-ER annual conference, thanks to scholarships funded by our dedicated members. These scholarships, made possible through membership dues, provide students with invaluable opportunities to grow, network, and explore the horticulture industry.

Students and New Members at Dinner in Columbus

At the conference, students participated in a special dinner where they connected with fellow students and IPPS members. This provided a unique chance to learn about career paths, industry standards, and the innovative ways professionals are shaping the future of plant propagation. One student described the experience as "a very eye-opening experience when it came to potential careers, industry standards, and the ways that people are constantly innovating. There is no better way to learn than a conference like this."

These scholarships are more than just financial support—they are an investment in the future of our field. Many past scholarship recipients have gone on to become active members of IPPS, continuing the cycle of seeking and sharing that defines our society.

Your contributions as members are making a lasting impact. Thank you for fostering the growth of the next generation of horticulturalists and ensuring a bright future for IPPS. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected community.
