Update from Christa Orum-Keller and Family on Peter’s Health
As many of you know, Peter Orum has been a longstanding member of our community, and we wanted to provide an update on his health. Earlier this year, Peter was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) and has been undergoing treatment since July. Despite some recent challenges, including a hospitalization in early August, Peter is continuing to fight with his characteristic optimism and strength.
He is now receiving additional treatments, targeting cancer in his spinal and brain fluid, and remains under the care of his medical team at Lutheran General Hospital. Peter is also working through physical and occupational therapy as he regains strength.
At this time, Peter’s family is requesting privacy, and visits are limited to immediate family. However, if you would like to send Peter a note of encouragement, large handwriting or printing is preferred so he can easily read them. Photos of familiar people and places are also welcomed. Please direct all correspondence through Peter’s assistant, Sheila Miller, who will ensure they reach him.
